Revised building regulations

Boverket (The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning) has revised the building regulations which contain conditions for among other things water installations in the kitchen environment. At the last moment, their introduction has been postponed.
The regulations stipulate that surfaces that can be affected by condensation, damp or water must be fitted with a sealing layer (BBR 6:5331). They also stipulate that leakage water on hidden surfaces has to be led away quickly for the leakage to be bought to attention in time (BBR 6:5334).

Comments regarding the postponed introduction.
The revision, which includes a number of areas regarding building technology (section 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9 in BBR), has been under consideration. These comments on this proposal which has been circulated for consideration have been dealt with and are now “ready to be passed". But other EU countries must also have their say. This is called EU notification. Germany has raised objections towards BRR’s regulations regarding iron stove emissions. For practical reasons the department and thus Boverket wanted to come to a decision regarding “the entire package” at the same time, thus postponing the starting date..
