Two kinds of leakage

All water damage begins in a similar fashion: with a few undetected drops of water. From then on the damage may develop at varying speed.

Sometimes the leakage develops very quickly with water spraying or running profusely out of a pipe, a coupling etc. forcing you to quickly turn off the water supply and call for help. This sudden flow of water can be avoided by having a professional install a water seal (consult your insurance company).

The most expensive and difficult form of water damage arises when small drops of water remain undetected for a long period of time. These undetected leaks can occur at any time. Water leaks are absorbed by the fittings and surrounding building material and may first be noticed when the construction has been saturated. This damage often forces residents to relocate for months while repairs are made. A long, drawn-out period of damage may also result in health problems.

Undetected leakage is the most common cause of water damage in a kitchen. Having said that, it is one of the few types of water damage which can be prevented by the average DIY person by installing protection products from the” Waterproof kitchen – concept”
